Our Big Comfy Couch!

Hey y'all! For my first ever blog post, I thought it would be awesome to share with you about our couch! You may be thinking, "who cares? a couch is a couch!" But trust me, this couch is awesome! First off, let me start by saying I had seen couches like this ALL over pinterest inside some of the dreamiest farmhouses ever and I was dying to have one. I love the country look of the rolled arms and how comfy it looked. So I began googling and googling to find out where it was from, and it kept leading me here to this beautiful pottery barn sectional!

The moment I saw it my heart dropped and so did my jaw. These prices are outrageous! This pottery barn sofa, in the same size, color, and configurations as mine adds up to about $4,700! Yikes! Pocket change right? Not for me!

But I didn't give up, I started looking up knock-off's (I'm NOT ashamed!) until the best thing ever happened. I found OUR couch at none other than IKEA. I'm telling y'all, this sofa is IDENTICAL to the pottery barn one. Check it out here!
They look SO similar I began looking up reviews to see what the catch was. All the reviews were actually amazing, so I was like what the heck, I'm going for it! Especially after being a new homeowner and wanting to put our money into much more important things, this $800 Ikea EKTORP series sectional was a steal! They also have tons of different shapes and sizes in this brand (Sofas, love seats, chairs etc.!)

Now, let me tell you some of the reasons I love this Couch other than the cheap price! One of the very first things people say to me when they see my couch is that I'm so brave for having such a light color. But the awesome thing about this couch is that it's actually a full slip cover sofa. Which can be fully removed and thrown in the wash! I've had my sectional since February, and have yet to take it off and wash it (and I have kids in the house daily). It's been pretty easy with some spot cleaning here and there, but it's rare that I even see spots on it. When I do, I just use 409 carpet cleaner, that stuff is amazing for real! The coolest thing is that if I ever get tired of this light beige (lofallet beige) I can easily switch to a different color, as opposed to going out and buying a whole new sofa, for about $100-$200 dollars from IKEA. They also sell them on amazon from what I've seen!

I like to switch around the cushions from time to time to keep them fluffy, since Josh and I are the type to pick a spot and make it "our spot" on the couch. I haven't noticed any sagging or flattening yet and this sofa is legitimately the most comfortable one we've owned so far. It was also really easy to put together. I actually did it all by myself while Josh was at work. I'm impatient!

If you're looking for a farmhouse feel without spending all the money, I'd HIGHLY recommend checking this sofa out!

Until next time y'all!
