All about greenery!

One of the things you will notice when walking in my house is that I LOVE the color green. I have greenery in all my nooks and spaces. I feel that every home should incorporate some form of nature because you can automatically see the life in it. Before I realized how important it was, our previous homes had a lifeless and cold feel to them! So I want to show you just how much greenery can add to a space and some reasons why I love it so much!

First off, let me start off by saying that greenery DOES NOT have be real. All of my greenery, believe it or not, is fake. I've tried real plants, but i'm just horrible at keeping the poor things alive. So instead I've gone the faux route. And let me tell you, there are so many realistic and gorgeous faux plants out there. Mainly, if you feel that the leaves don't look like paper, I'd say any type of fake greenery looks great!

Now, Why do I love greenery so much? Well, not only do I love it... but I almost feel like it's really needed in a home (especially a farmhouse!) Let me tell you why:

1. It can add life to your space.

Even with fake greenery, adding in any type of plants that at least appear to be living is really helpful when needing to liven up a place. Some places can seem so cold and dead, and adding in plants can really make it feel alive and warm.

2. It adds a pop of color.

In some areas of a home, we like to make all of the accessories coordinate, which is awesome, but we don't want it to be bland, boring, or unoriginal. A nice pop of green can be fun and show that you're not afraid to think outside of the color box! It honestly doesn't always have to apply to just green plants. you can add a pop of any type of floral to a space as long as it coordinates with your overall color scheme!

3. It's great AND easy for ALL spaces!

This can kind of relate to the previous point and is a biggie for me! For one, I LOVE to be constantly changing things up. This is one of the reasons I chose white/neutral colored walls. But also, no matter how much you change a space, greenery goes with everything! Just stick it in old vases, baskets, buckets, jars, you name it!

4. It comes in a variety of shapes and textures!

There's all sorts of different green things to choose from! Wreaths, succulents, leafy plants, baby's breath, boxwood, and the list can go on! So many different varieties for all the different areas and spaces!

5. It doesn't have to be expensive!

I'll be honest, a few of my greenery pieces I did splurge a little on. But honestly not for more than $30 or so. And those were things like my larger wreaths and things (Sometimes it's okay to spend a little here and there). BUT! Most of the little pieces of greenery have been cheap pickings! One of my favorite places to find fake plants is good old walmart! I'm able to find bundles of florals and greenery for about a dollar a pop!

So, now that I've shared why I think it's so important in writing, I wanted to show you exactly what I mean in pictures. Here are some fun before and afters that can give you an idea of just how much life, fun, and texture some greenery can give your space!
