Our Cozy Guestroom!

Hey everyone! My little guestroom is finally complete! Well, most of it actually has already been complete for over a month now, but I had to wait to get a special gift from my sister when they came for vacation this last week! I've always wanted to have a real guestroom, so over the past couple of months I have made it a priority to create a nice and cozy one that people will really enjoy as their home away from home! So, without further ado, here are some photos!

So, the biggest thing I had to take into consideration here, was that this is an incredibly TINY room. I had to be very careful in here as to not overdo it and keep it simple, yet have features that are pleasing to the eye and really stand out. I kept a light but still very warm color pallet to give the illusion that the room is still larger than it really is, and also to maintain the farmhouse look that carries throughout the rest of my house.

Where everything came from:

- I already had a frame and mattress, duvet insert, and arrow sheet set from the past.

- Welcome to the Farm sign, We're glad you're here sign, metal wall planters, all the greenery, cotton garland, side table and most of the tray decor from Hobby Lobby

- Side tables, lamps, door mirror, and bed tray are from Walmart.

Farm sweet farm pillow cover, duvet cover, and throw blanket are from Amazon

- Be our guest sign was from none other than my awesome sister Victoria!

Here's a closer look at my sign handmade by my sister!

Guys, she did EVERYTHING. She made the frame, stained it, painted it, and did her freaking amazing hand lettering on it! This is not the only thing she can make, she's also made my massive "Gather" sign, as well as so many other types and styles of artwork.

Some tips to keep in mind in YOUR own guestroom!

- Keep it neutral: Warm and cozy colors make for a tranquil relaxing environment.

- Keep it clean and uncluttered: Make sure the closet is clean and ready for luggage to keep your guests things off the floor! Put hangers in the closet! This can also relate to decor, in a smaller space, less is ALWAYS more.

- Make it welcoming: Nice bed set, fresh sheets and decor... not just your grandmas old stuff you pulled out of the closet, cozy pillows and throw blankets, candles florals and greenery!

- Make it functional: This room was small, so I opted for a over the door mirror to conserve all the space I could while still allowing plenty of room for someone to get ready there. I also made sure it was near an outlet for anything that needed to be plugged in while getting ready (blow dryer, curling iron, etc.) I also laid out the room so that each side was close to an outlet for phone charging.

Well, that's pretty much it! I hope you enjoyed seeing my little guestroom!

Until next time, ya'll!
